This is a very disappointing video and I wish Toyota had taken much more appropriate action at US hearing.. Instead of reading a prepared statement, he should have had a live Q&A session and expressed the apology in his own term even if he had to use a professional interpreter. Or he should have used an interpreter or consulted with professional public relation specialists. You can read his statement at above URL, which I don't even bother to read. I'm thankful that US House Commerce members were patient enough to let him finish the prepared statement. Had I been there, I'd stop him at once and start questioning him directly. Anyway, this made enough fool of Toyota and I'm fully disappointed. He expressed the apology in very Japanese way and this doesn't appeal to US citizens. However, I'm sure he is capable to improve and recover, KAIZEN, and will be able to offer cars that meets the expectation of international customers. I honestly do not understand why Toyota has let these happen, I mean, the crooked cars and this silly hearing. Anyway, I sincerely hope Toyoda-san will think of speaking to US people directly and explain the recovery plan in his own terms even with a help of interpretor.
Any suggestion to Toyoda-san from anybody?
I cannot forward your message to him but I'd like to hear from you. 05mar10
