�� Program “Monozukuri Shoka Sonjuku”http://jp.youtube.com/v/MbY-q3Tj7dkEngineers as professionals are obliged to explain the contents of their own designing skills to third parties with faith and efforts. They are required to make best suggestions for technical improvements based on their own skills and knowledge vis-??-vis designing requirements and needs of customers for strength, longer life span, lower costs, etc. of new products. For the improvement of skills, suggestions for product improvements and exchange of opinions for such suggestions are indispensable. However, in many companies, the design review of examining such suggestions for improvements tends to become a matter of mere formality for the sake of the improvement of administrative efficiency and for cost reduction. Under such circumstances, there exists a need for a study forum to transfer and make open Japan’s “fabrication” (“Monozukuri” in Japanese) technologies/techniques. “Monozukuri Shoka Sonjuku” is rightly this type of the forum. It started its activities in 2005 to enlighten correct usage of numeric simulations in the area of structural engineering. Needless to say, the name of “Shoka Sonjuku” was taken from the name of the private school created by Shoin Yosida of Choshu Clan, who was a philosopher and a prominent educator of the last days of Tokugawa Shogunate.
