*info cloud: storm
Hello friends, welcome to info cloud. Rex, are you okay? You
look really stressed right now.
Oh, you know I’m working and going to school at the same
time, I also have a family to take care of. So sometimes things
can get a little chaotic and stressful. I feel like I’m constantly
in the eye of the storm.
That’s a great way to describe being in a difficult situation.
We all know that storms can be really powerful and cause a lot
of damage. Being in the eye of the storm puts you at the center
of the surrounding chaos and distraction.
When you use this phrase in daily conversation, it means you
are right in the middle of a very troubled and stressful
situation, like where I am right now.
There is a similar expression that has something to do with
storms. When someone is getting really angry inside, you can
say, a storm is brewing. When Peter showed his Dad his
report card, he could tell a storm was brewing.
That means that there was going to be trouble or emotional
upheaval in the future. In this case, the Dad’s anger might be
growing as he reads the report card and he might lose his
temper.
The word brewing usually means to make some kind of drink.
When you say a storm is brewing, it can be also used more
literally to imply that a real storm is forming.
