See Inspiring Global Voices in Choreography
At Lincoln Center this June, you have two chances to see the Global Voices program that features the richly varied styles of European choreographers Mauro Bigonzetti (Deep) and Johan Inger (Walking Mad), and closes with Alvin Ailey's iconic work, Revelations. Deep - “Bigonzetti’s Deep is a stunner, pure and simple… it is a wrenching exploration of the ways in which women can be haunted and altered by lost love.” –Chicago Sun Times Walking Mad – “Of all the dances inspired by Ravel’s Bolero, this is the most interesting. It used familiar music in a new way, exploring just about everything that could be done with a movable wall and nine dancers – infused with stark, unsettling, and quirkily theatrical style.” –The Washington Post Revelations – “Revelations has been performed in 71 countries, and it reliably brings audiences to their feet, even dancing in the aisles…a sense of uplift so infectious that most people leave the theater either singing the music or trying to dance the steps.” -The Wall Street Journal Ailey performs the Global Voices program Friday June 16 at 8pm and Sunday June 18 at 7:30pm. Groups 10+ save up to 20% and pay no fees. Contact groupsales@alvinailey.org or call 212-405-9082. |
