大会公式マスコットです。 名前はVAL。 胸に描かれるロゴを形作る３本の支柱をなす翼は、バレーボールの心・技・体を意味しています。 勝利、Victoryを目指し、一つのボールに全てを賭ける。 選手のエキサイティングで感動的な姿の象徴です。 『Val』とはラテン語で力という意味の『Valor』の語源です。 また『Val』は『Value』＝真価の語源でもあります。 世界のトッププレイヤーたちが見せる最高の大会である、という意味も込められています。 そして頭文字の『V』はVictoryのV、VolleyballのVを表しています。 また、大会公式マスコットのVALといっしょに、お馴染みブーブは『バレブー』として大会を盛り上げます！
