いい映画を見ました。Good movies!

今日のムービーチャンネルでいい映画を二つ見ました。
トム・ハンクス主演の「天使と悪魔」。
ダン・ブラウン原作の「ダビンチコード」の続編で、見ごたえがありました。
二つ目は「ホリデー」。イギリス人とアメリカ人が家をスワップする話で、面白く、心温まるストーリーでした。

年末年始は、バカバカしいバライエティ番組や歌番組が氾濫していますが、それらを避けて、こういう本物のエンターテインメントを見るほうが、はるかに楽しいし、後味がいいですね。

I saw two wonderful movies on the Movie Channel today.
One is Tom Hank's "Angels and Demons."
It is based on the story by Dan Brown and I really enjoyed it.
The second movie was "Holiday". It was an interesting and heart-warming story in which Americans and English
swap their homes.

There are two many silly variety programs and music programs on TV around the year-end and the New Year.
It is much better and you feel better afterwards if you watch these truly entertaining movies

新刊書を２冊同時に執筆中！Writing two new books simultaneously!

毎日、２冊の本の原稿を交互に書いています。
パソコンで猛烈な勢いで打ちこんでいます。
「グローバル人間になろう！」と「おとなのための教養」の２冊です。
この調子だと、年末年始も執筆で謀殺されて、「紅白歌合戦」のような時間の無駄なテレビ番組を見る余裕はないでしょう。

あと何回新年を迎えられるかを考えると、うかうかしていられません。
来年３月には６９歳。
幸い、心身ともに至って健康です。
今のうちに、執筆とゴルフに専念します。

Every day I am busy writing two books simultaneously.
I am typing on my PC.
"Let us become a global person" and "Inner Qualities for adults" are the titles.
I am afraid I will be totally occupied during the winter holidays and won't have time to watch
those time-wasting TV programs.

"I wonder how many more New Years I will be able to experience."
I should not waste any time!
I will be 69 years old next March.
Luckily, I am healthy physically and mentally.
I will concentrate on writing and golf for the time being.

新刊書「グローバル人間になろう」を執筆中 writing a book "Let us become a global person."

毎日猛烈な勢いで、本の原稿を書いています。これが完成すると、４３冊目になります。
来年３月末に出版予定で、テーマは「グローバル人間になろう！」です。
気楽な本で、１００個ほどの項目があり、それぞれの項目が見開きの２ページで完結します。
「英会話速習法」とか「時差解消法」とか「ＴＰＯに合わせた洋服」など海外に観光やビジネスで行く人たちの
バイブルにしようと思っています。

昔は原稿用紙に書いていましたが、今ではパソコンでWordで書いています。アメリカのハイスクール留学時代にタイピングを習ったので、ブラインドタッチで猛烈な勢いで書くことができて、非常にはかどっています。
この調子で行けば、あと１０日ほどで、十分な量の原稿が完成しそうです。

I am writing my new book, "Let us become a global person."
It will be my 43rd book to be published.
The articles will be "How to master English conversation", "How to cure the jet lag"
or "Wear properly for different occasions" etc.

I am very fast thanks to my typing speed and I will have enough manuscripts in 10 days.

バッハに酔いしれています。Intoxicated with Bach!

今、真夜中の１：３０．
昨晩の１０時から３時間熟睡してさっき起床。
気分爽快です。
バッハのチェンバロ音楽をyoutubeで聞きながら、新刊本の原稿を執筆中。
食べごろのアヴォカド、Kraftチェダーチーズを食べながら、お酒をちびちび。
窓の外には、東京タワーと月が見えます。
至福の時間です。

It is 1:30 a.m. mid night.
I slept tight for 3 hours since 10 p.m. last evening.
I feel fine!
I am writing manuscript of my new book as I am listening to Harpsichord concertos by Bach.
I am sipping Sake as I eat an Avocado and Kraft Cheddar Cheese.
I can see Tokyo Tower and the moon from the Balcony.
The best time of my life!

思い出のサンフランシスコ I left my heart in San Francisco

さっきサンフランシスコの弁護士とメールを交換しました。1988年にトニーベネットを僕のテレビ番組でインタビューしたことを思い出しました。
ニューヨークのイタリアンレストランで私が食べていると、彼が隣のテーブルに来ました。私は彼に近づいて行って、挨拶をして、僕のテレビ番組のゲストに出演してくれませんか、と頼みました。すると彼は笑って、言いました。「もちろん。来週日本に行って、ブルーノート東京で歌います。そこに招待しますから、インタビューをお受けしましょう。」
彼はジェントルマンでした。それ以来、僕は彼の忠実なファンで、カラオケに行くといつも「思い出のサンフランシスコ」を唄います。いい思い出です。

When I was eating at an Italian restaurant in New York City, he walked in and sat at my next table.
I walked up to him, greeted to him and requested an interview for my TV show.
He smiled and said to me,
"Sure. I will be in Tokyo next week and will sing at Blue Note Tokyo. You are welcome to come to my concert and do the interview."
He was such a gentleman and I have always stayed his loyal fan and I sing his "I left my heart in San Francisco" all the time at Karaoke restaurants in Tokyo.
Very fond memory for me!
