I try to be very careful when talking to people I don’t know well about my personal information. Basically, as I’m totally out of the closet here in Canada, I don’t need to hide my sexuality. However, on the other hand, I try not to declare my sexuality aggressively because I know there are a lot of homophobic people even here in Canada. The other day, Rob told me that one of our painting buddies is strong homophobic and he told me some bad stories, which happened in the painting class in the past. When I heard the stories, I decided to try to be more careful when I am with her. When I told my partner about it, he got angry about her very much, even though he had never met her and he said I don’t need to hide my sexuality in front of her. Of course, I understand what he said and I know I don’t need to be too nervous about telling people I’m gay. However, I’m a total pacifist. I don’t want to be a cause of trouble for anything. I just want to build a good friendship with my painting buddies, even with her. So, I try not to ask anybody too personal questions because I don’t want people to do the same thing to me. However, some people are very inquisitive and their arrogant attitudes really annoy me. I try to keep distance from them, but these people keep trying to get your personal information. I always feel it is very difficult to build a good relationship with people. I didn’t come out to anybody except my best friend when I was in Japan and it really was a burden and sorrow for me. However, fortunately, I’ve met a lot of wonderful people who accept the way I am since I moved to Canada. I appreciate it very much and I want to cherish the friendships forever. |

Hi BC Canada, I'm impressed with your approach of writing plain English as you might speak. You set a good example for learners of English to learn. Congratulations! When you have free time, please take a peek at my blog. Thank you.
