祝２周年！

素晴らしい！

そういえば、以前に千葉は南房総に素晴らしいお店を構えていらっしゃる『ZIPPO PARK』さんについて取り上げたことがあるのですが（→　http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/t3_zippo/40699811.html ）、HPがリニューアルされていて（って、気づくの遅いか．．．ゴメンなさい！）、素晴らしいことになっています！ぜひ一度、訪れてみてはいかがでしょうか！

日本における『コレクタークラブ』とは．．．＜アーカイブ＞

ちょっと突っ込んだZIPPOコレクターなら、板谷金吉氏の名前を知っている方も多いと思います。

ボク自身は90年代初頭にZIPPO取扱店でよく見かけた「ITAYA COLLECTION」シリーズや、92年1月に発行された「ジッポー名品コレクション」を通じて氏のことを知ったのですが、直接ご本人にお会いしたのは、98年の第一回東京SMの席でのことでした。とても紳士な方で、当時のボクの展示を見て大変ほめて下さった事をよく覚えています。

氏は1980年に日本で初のZIPPOのコレクタークラブを立ち上げられましたが、残念ながらボクがお会いした頃にはもうクラブの運営は終了されていました。後日、知人からその当時のクラブ・ライター（84年製）を譲り受けたのですが、そのデザイン・センスの良さに触れる度、氏のクラブが存続されていない事が悔やまれてなりませんでした．．．

先述の単行本「ジッポー名品コレクション」は現在絶版で入手困難ですが、機会があれば是非読んでみて欲しい名著です。特にこの中の第2章『イタヤオリジナル』は必見。そのツボを突いた素晴らしいデザインと70年代後半の日本における"AD ZIPPO"の黎明期を象徴する「垂涎モデル」の数々を、一挙に見る事が出来ます。

板谷氏のクラブの他にも、日本でライター・クラブの立ち上げが試まれたことが何度かありましたが、残念ながら現在まで活動を継続しているところはありません。ビジネスと絡む形でのクラブ運営というのは、やはり現実的には大変難しいものなのでしょうね．．．
かといって欧米のように、コレクター主導のクラブを立ち上げる動きも、現在はまだ無いようですしね．．．（ネット・コミュニティなどに参加しておられる方はいらっしゃいますが．．．）
宝くじが大当たりして今の仕事から解き放たれるなら、喜んでクラブの「言い出しっぺ」になるんですけどね．．．でも現実的には「定年後」かなぁ。でもあと20年あるしなぁ．．．20年待って下さいますか（笑）？

現在板谷氏はピンズ中心のデザイン・加工・販売をおこなわれているそうです。そちらでも素晴らしい作品を創り続けていらっしゃるようですが、是非ともまた「ZIPPOの世界」にも戻って来て頂きたいものです、ハイ。

戦後の日本で刻まれたZIPPO達 ２ ＜アーカイブ＞

前稿に引き続き、進駐軍の米兵が占領下の日本で、『彫金師』の手によって絵柄を刻み込んだZIPPOを紹介したいと思います。

画像のZIPPOは48年製、日本地図のモチーフを詳細に彫り込んだ図柄のもの。ベースとなっているのは、とても珍しい"TACH-A-LOOP"（紛失防止用のヒモを付ける事が出来るループ付きモデル）です。

こういった鏨（たがね）を使った手作業の彫金技術は、古くからの伝統工芸の血を引くものだと思われます（当時の日本製品で同様のベクトルを持っているのは「スカジャン」だったり？）。
戦争自体は「悲しい現実」でしたが、それが終わった後の「EAST MEETS WEST」は、なかなか味わい深いモノが沢山生まれてきたという意味において、まんざら悪くはなかったのではないでしょうか？

こんなデザインのZIPPO、今でもあったら欲しいと思うんだけどなぁ．．．皆さんはどうですか？
