Today, I'm going slow again. I was watching the TV series '8 simple rules' again this early morning. I've noticed that they were using a lot of idioms that I studied in this TRAINING section. It seems like this thingy is really paying off. From this article ↑こちらの記事から get the hang of something=learn how to do something (freedictionary.com)コツをつかむ ★You need some practice before you get the hang of it. ?b>I'm finally getting the hang of using this idiom. ?b>Talking with people wasn't easy for me at first, but I guess now I'm getting the hang of it. a lone wolf=one who prefers to go without the company or assistance of others. (freedictionary.com)一匹狼、いつも一人で行動をとる人 ?b>He's a lone wolf and kind of keeps to himself a lot. ?b>I've been a lone wolf for some time now, and I think I should turn over a new leaf and hang out with some co-workers. ★You are missing out on a lot of great opportunities being a lone wolf like that. have a weak spot for someone or something=feel attraction to or affection for someone or something (freedictionary.com)何か(誰か)に、好意を持っている ★I have a weak spot for these cute little puppies. Somehow, I have a weak spot for this kind of movies. なんだか解らないですけど、どういう訳か、こういう映画は好きなんですよね〜 ★Kelly seems to have a weak spot for older guys.
I originally posted this item as "have a week spot for someone or something." This was a typo. It's correct form is "have a weak spot for someone or something." It's not 'week' but 'weak'. 最初はhave a week spot for someone or somethingって紹介していたのですが、正しくはhave a weak spot for someone or somethingでした。 have a soft spot for someone or something=feel a lot of affection for someone or something, often without knowing why (freedictonary.com)何か(誰か)に、凄く好意を持っている(多くの場合、なぜだか解らないけど、好意をもっている) 「なんか無性に好きなんですよね〜」っていうカンジかな? ★I have a soft spot for Kelly. Something about her is really amazing! ★Look at that young skater! I have a really soft spot for her. 彼女、なんだかとっても好きなんですよね〜 ?b>I don't get it, but John seems to have a soft spot for the game of chess.

I don't think I am a lone wolf. But every now and then I get an urge to go on
a solo trip without having any set schedule or anything. A month solo trip
to India and Nepal right after college was amazing! Believe or not, that was
my very first trip abroad. It was many moons ago!

Oops! I did it again♪^^ Thank you so much for pointing it out, 内緒さん. ha ha^^ I'm so embarrassed. Let me make corrections right now. It's very nice of you. And I'm ashamed that I didn't see it myself. I made mistake on the idiom entry as well as in all the example sentenses. ha ha. I guess this must be my bad hair day.^^

Mr.T-san>Thank you. Wow! You went to India and Nepal! That's awesome! Hmm, come to think of it, I've never been to a trip abroad before. Well, that is, if I don't count the period I spent in Texas and the time I visited a friend in Taiwan. Going solo on a trip must have been an amazing experience. I have to take my hat off to you for it.

Yes, traveling northern part of India, Katmandu and its neighboring villages was
an incredible experience. It was just a blast! I could go back if only I had more
time and money. Tiger san, you should go too! I strongly recommend!

Mr.T-san>Thank you. Yes, yes!^^ I would like to visit those places. Once, a friend of mine traveled around south and southeast Asia just on his own. He showed me a lot of pictures, and they looked really nice! And I guess that the excitement and the inspiration I would get from actually being there must be much greater than what I felt by just seeing those pictures. (If only I had more time and money...well, this time only the money counts, doesn't it? sigh...^^汗)

I'm getting the hang of e-mailing by a cell-phone.
I had to do some practice before I get the hang of it.
Now, I'm gradually getting the hang of using this idiom!
Yeah, TIGER san, you're completely right.
Leaving a message in English must be one of the best ways to get the hang of idioms!
Although my English is not good enough, poot English is no reason not to speak or write.

soy koko-san>Thank you for your comment. And I'm so delighted to see the idiom used in so many sentences♪^^ It's impressive! I have to hand it to you, soy koko-san. And I appreciate it. With your help, I feel like the idiom 'get the hang of' is engraved much deeper in my heart.(←I was groping for the verb, 'engrave', didn't recall it, and so looked it up in a dictionary on the net.^^汗)
soy koko-san>Again, I'd like to say, thank you so much♪^^ I really enjoyed your comment. And what I'm about to say may sound like something of a cliche nowadays, but yet, it is the truth. And it is this. Soy koko-san, you are just awesome!!^^
