三葉虫 キクロピィゲ(Sagavia)

キクロピィゲ類は、すでに別の記事でも説明しましたように、完全体は極めて希少です。
このサガヴィアはその中でも最希少種とも言える種類なんだそうで、
完璧なものは30年に3体しか手に入らないほどのモノだそうです。

そのウルトラ希少種にあって、普通は残らない複眼が完璧に保存されているという、
まさに奇跡の標本です。まだ完璧に掘り出したわけではありませんが、
その頭部はまったく三葉虫らしくなく、まるでハエです。

Sagavia is one of the rarest species in cyclopygid, according to the supplier of this specimen, only three complete ones including this had been produced from the site. And this specimen is great in that point not only very complete but also preservation especially of its eyes. With huge eyes, Sagavia have very different looking from common trilobites.
