澄江 超巨大三葉虫形類

超巨大な節足動物です。
その幅たるや10cm弱にも達し、この動物の全長は20〜40cmにも達したものと想像されます。

タイトルは『三葉虫形類』ですが、そうではないかというだけで確信はもてません。
事実、フーシャンフイア（延長無仙湖虫）に似ていなくもないです。
ただし、流石に幅10cm近くにも達するフーシャンフイアはないでしょうし、
外骨格の板の一枚一枚の形状はひどく異なりますので、未知の節足動物と考えるのが妥当ではないでしょうか。

面白いのは、左右の骨格は繋がっており、ブーメランを連想するような曲がり方をしている事でしょうか。
完全でないのが惜しまれる標本です。

カンブリア紀、中国雲南省海口産です。

ブンデンバッハ オルソセラス

オルソセラス
頭足類のオルソセラスです。
ブンデンバッハ周辺では、デボン紀の多様な化石が産出します。Eifelやブンデンバッハ周辺の砂岩層から産出する貝殻や三葉虫などは三次元的な保存がされていると聞いていますが、「ブンデンバッハ・スレート」は、大抵の場合、高度に圧縮されています。瓦に使われるほどなので圧縮されているのは当然といえば当然です。この標本はブンデンバッハ・スレートですが、見事に三次元的に保存されています。オルソセラスは三次元的に残る事は多いですが、ここまで圧縮されていないのは珍しいです。

fossil Orthoceras
An ancient cephalopod carapace. There are several fossil deposits near Bundenbach, and some of such Devonian site can produce fossils preserved very 3D structure while many Bundenbach fossils are highly compressed to fossil plane. This specimen, unlike many Bundenbach slates, still possesses three-dementional structure. Orthoceras have very hard shell however most of them are compressed and 3D structure this level is relatively rare in this site.

ブンデンバッハ ウミユリの茎？

ウミユリの茎？
よく判りませんが、ウミユリの茎のようにも見えます。もしそうだとすると、ブンデンバッハのウミユリとしては極めて大型種ではないでしょうか。ウミユリは死後速やかに分解し、大抵は植物のような姿にはならず、このような破片として化石化する事が多いようです。ただブンデンバッハでこのような標本は殆ど見かけないのは謎です。

Crinoid stem?
Not sure, but this seems to be an crinoid stem plate. If so, this one is quite large animal as Bundenbach sea lily. Crinoids usually decompose after its demise, and it is very rare to be preserved plant-like shape in nature, and in most cases they are fossilized in fragment of bone plate such like this. But in Bundenbach such specimen seems to be relatively rare.

ブンデンバッハ 二枚貝

二枚貝
ブンデンバッハでは、他のラーゲルシュテッテンと同様二枚貝と腕足類が採れます。
二枚貝はどちらかといえば珍しいかもしれません。商品価値が高くないからか、出回る数はとても少ないと思います。
大きいほうの貝は、長さ約5cmで、表面に何かが付着しているのも確認できます。
デボン紀、ドイツ、ブンデンバッハの化石です。

fossil Calm
In Bundenbach, both calm and brachiopod calapaces can be collected. Big calms like this may be relatively rare, and probably small number of specimens are on sale on fossil market since such specimens are not less value as products.
As to this specimen, larger calapace measures about 5cm in length and something attached on the surface.

これは何だと思われますか？ブンデンバッハの化石は、大抵の場合金属ブラシでこすって化石を露出させたり、サンドブラスターでクリーニングしたものが一般的で、未クリーニング品のものは少ないです。特に、このように立派な標本は．．．。

Unprepped specimen
Do you think what this is? Most Bundenbach materials in market are prepped ones by brass brush or air abrasive, and unprepped materials are relatively rarely seen, especially highly mineralized big specimen such like this...
