ブンデンバッハ 三葉虫 Rhenops sp.

ブンデンバッハで2番目に産出する三葉虫ですが、1番沢山出るChotecopsに比べれば遥かに少ないです。他に、オドントチレやパラホマロノタス、レオナスピスなどが出ます。モロッコの三葉虫として定番のものはどれも出る、という印象ですが、流通量が極めて少ないのでコレクターが一般的に入手できるのはRhenopsまででしょう。この標本は、裏側から見た標本で、ごく一部にのみ軟体部らしきものが見られます。殻とは色が異なり、おそらくは有機物の残骸であろうと推測されます。

Rhenops is 2nd most common in Bundenbach, but far scarcer compared with Chotecops. Other species such like Odontochile, Parahomalonotus or Leonaspis can be produced in this site, many of their relatives are very common as Moroccan Devonian trilobites. But in Bundenbach, any trilobites except Chotecops or Rhenops are extremely hard to come by even if fragments. This specimen is from abdomen side, but most of soft tissue gone but only a portion seems to be preserved. The colour of the soft tissue in head resion is quite different from that of carapace, this is because difference of composition(that can cause different fossilization process).
