コテコプス：裏側から見た標本
ブンデンバッハで最も一般的な三葉虫、コテコプスです。これは裏側から見た標本です。約10cmと大型の標本、かつ保存状態も素晴らしく綺麗な標本です。裏側から複眼が見えるのはなかなか他の産地では無いのではないでしょうか？(しかも両側の複眼が見えます)。ブンデンバッハのコテコプスといえば軟体部ばかりが注目されがちですが、軟体部が保存されていない標本でも素晴らしいものがあります。

Chotecops: ventral view
This species Chotecops ferdinandi is the most common in Bundenbach site, and what you see is trilobite ventral view. Almost 10cm in length is relatively large as Chotecops, and good preservation gives the specimen beautiful structures, especially both compound eyes clearly visible. This may be a special feature of Bundenbach fossils, have you ever seen specimen with such beautiful compound eyes from ventral side? Even almost no soft tissue, a Bundenbach fossil can be a masterpiece!
