福成寺 (堺）

堺市堺区錦之町東２丁目にあります。

この寺前の立て看板には次の記載がありました。

　　　　福　成　寺

　　正覚山（しょうかくざん）福成寺（ふくしょうじ）は、天文７年（１５３８）
洛西嵯峨（らくせいさが）清涼寺（せいりょうじ）を復興した化主（けしゅ）
尭淳上人（ぎょうじゅんしょうにん）が慈覚大師将来の赤栴檀木（しゃくせんだんぼく）
の釈迦牟尼仏を同寺より移して本尊としたため、菩提樹院（ぼだいじゅいん）とも
釈迦堂（しゃかどう）ともいわれていました。
　　浄土宗知恩院に属します。　高国（たかくに）軍機に薬師寺三郎左衛門はその子を
細川晴元に人質として差出したが、享禄４年（１５３１）３月　堺北の釈迦堂で殺害
されたと見えるのは当寺と考えられます。
　　宝永（ほうえい）（１７０４〜１０）の頃には塔頭（たっちゅう）に養龍庵
（ようりゅうあん）の名があり例年３月１９日にご本尊の身拭会式（みぬぐいえしき）
があります。　また、寺宝として絹本（けんぽん）涅槃像（ねはんぞう）を蔵しています。
　　境内に榎並屋勘左衛門とともに堺の鉄砲年寄(堺の鉄砲鍛冶をとりしまる役）を勤めた
堺鉄砲鍛冶芝辻理右衛門入道道逸の墓があります。　芝辻理右衛門の大筒が現在
大阪城に保存されています。

　　　　　　　　Fukujoji Temple

Shogakuzan Fukujoji Temple, belonging to the chion-in school of
the Jodo sect of Buddhism, was called "Bodaijuin",or "Shakado"
because Saint Gyojun brought a statue of Syakamuni Buddha,
made of red sandalwood, which had once been in the care of
Saint Jikaku. Saint Gyojun revived Seiryoji Temple in Saga,
Rakusai (west of Kyoto) in 1538.
According to the "Takakuni Gunki" (a war record). Fukujoji was
the temple where Saburozaemon Yakushiji's son, who was held
hostage by Harumoto Hosokawa, was killed in March 1531.
A record says that this temple had a sub-temple. Yoryuan
around the Hoei Era (1704-1710). Every year the ceremony to
clean the principal image (Minugui-eshiki) is performed on March
19. A treasure is the Kempon Nehanzo (image of Nirvana).
In the temple site is a tomb of Riemon Shibatsuji, a gunsmith
and gun councilor of Sakai with Kanzaemon Enamiya. A cannon
manufactured by Riemon Shibatsuji is kept in Osaka Castle.
