旧鉄砲鍛冶屋敷、（堺）

大阪府堺市北旅籠町西１－３－２２　にあります。

ここの案内板には次のように表示されていました。

　　旧鉄砲鍛冶屋敷（非公開）

この辺りは、第2次世界大戦の戦災を免れたため、

江戸後期を偲ばせる古い街並みが残されている・井上

邸は堺にただ一つ現存するする当時の鉄砲鍛冶屋敷で現

在は4棟の切妻造平入りの建物からなり・建物の総間

ロは12間半にわたっている。南端の棟は2階建、その

北の棟は後半2階建、またその北の棟も背面のみを2

階にし、北端の棟は平屋で、殆ど大部分は本瓦葺きと

なっている。北より第二の棟が主屋で入ロより通り庭

によって裏口に通じる。主屋の土間より北側は現在部

屋となっているが、もとは鍛冶場で、その後半は床棚、

書院をそなえた12畳半の大座敷とされている。最初は

表ロ3間半で店の間を全部土間とし、奥の方の左半分

を土間、右手を6畳と4畳半の2室をもうけた簡単な

ものであった。その後、北に座敷を継ぎ足し、さらに

南の家を次々と入手して鍛冶場を広げ、大座敷をもう

けたものと考えられる。

江戸初期から末期にわたる鉄絶鍛冶の生活の実態を

伺う上で貴重な建物である。

OLD HOUSE OF GUNSMITH`S

The　area　around　this　house　was　not　bombed　in　World　War　Ⅱ. and　preserves　the　

atmosphere　of　a　town　in　the　late　Edo　Era.　The house　of　the　lnoue's　is　the　only　surviving　

gun　plant　from　that　time.

It　consists　of　4　buildings　with　gabled　roofs.　The　buildings　in　

the south　and　half　of　the　north　are　two-storied　and　have　tiled　roofs. The　second　building　from　the　north　is　the　main　

building　and　leads to　the　back　entrance.　The　space　north　of　

the　earthen　floor　of　the main　

building　is　now　used　as　rooms,　but　once　was a blacksmith's

shop　connected　to　a　large　12、5-mat　room　with　an　alcove　and　a study.　Originally　this　house　

was　a　simple　building　with　

earth-floored　shops　and　two　

small　rooms.　A　large　room　was　annexed later　and　a　south

building　was　purchased　for　the　blacksmith's shop、　It　is a

valuable asset, showing the actual life of a gunsmith in the Edo Era.
