貝塚市によく知られた水間寺が有ります。
そこから近く、川沿いを少し坂をあがったところに
この寺があります。
そのたて看板には次のよう記されていました。
国宝 孝恩寺観音堂

神亀3年(726年)、聖武天皇の勅願を受け、
僧行基によって建立されたとされる、 畿内四十九院
の一つに数えられる寺院である。 現存の御堂は、
鎌倉時代後期に再建されたもので、
大阪府下で最古の部類の木造建築物として、
明治３６年に国宝に指定されている。 建立時、
釘を使用していなかったところから、 別名
釘無堂（くぎなしどう）と呼ばれている。 また、
当寺には平安時代中期の本尊阿弥陀如来をはじめ、
地方色豊かな１９体の仏像群が重要文化財に指定され、
安置されている。

National Treasure Kohonji Kanondoh

Executor Kohonji Temple
Kohonji temple is said to be one of the
Kinai Sijukuin temples founded by the priest
Gyohki on request of the Emperor Syohmu in
726. Kanondoh was rebuilt in the latter of the
Kamakura Era. it is one of the oldest wooden
buildings in Osaka Prefecture. it was built
without using any nail, and so is commonly
called "Kuginasidoh" in this temple there are
19 statues of Buddha, designated important
cultural properties, carved in the Heian Era.
