¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Rinshoji Temple

Ten-ozan Rinshoji Temple is said to have been build by Dorin
Shoo in the middle of the 15th century and belongs to the
Yuzunenbutsu sect of Buddhism. The principal image is the image
of Amitabha Buddha, allegedly made by Prince Shotoku.
The story of inspiration is introduced in the "History of Sakai".
Zen-emon Tani reconstructed the main hall in August 1753,¡¡praying
for the peaceful rest of his parents. The priests' living quarter
was rebuilt by Jihei Tanaka.
Both Jihei Tanaka and Sen-emon Tani had the trade name of
Nuno-ya (textile wholesaler). Jihei Nunoya, while working on the
rerouting of the Yamato River in 1704 found the port filled with
sand and clay from upstream which prevented ship transportation,
and he appealed to the Edo Shogunate to continue remodelling
at his own expense. Remodelling was approved but he died of
disease at the age of 31. Zen-emon Tani, Jihei's father-in-law,
succeeded him in this business, and started construction work in
1728 and then completed the old Sakai port. Zen-emon was well
versed in flower arrangement and Raku pottery. His works are
named "Taniyaki" and are still highly appreciated. In the temple
are tombs of Harudayu Takemoto · and ¸. Joruri players of the
late Edo Era, built by Harudayu ¹.
