おそよ〜 本日の授業料徴収 クリックよろしくね Valentine’s Day in Japan. In Japan girls give chocolate to the men. A confectionary company in Japan borrowed the idea of Valentine’s Day from Europe and America. However unlike customs in these countries, it is normal in Japan for the woman to give a chocolate to the man. This practice comes from the fact that the over whelming majority of shoppers at department stores selling Valentine chocolates were women. This practice became popular during the early 1970’s. “Obligatory Chocolate”. What’s this?? This is the practice by female employees of giving chocolates to their immediate supervisor –the perfect form of brown nosing. One month later on March 14th “ White Day” is celebrated by giving a “ Thank you gift” by the recipients of the chocolates.
