完璧＝完全に璧を守りぬくからの語源

意味（少しも欠点がないこと）

故事　昔、中国の趙の国の惠文王（けいぶんおう）は、美しい璧（たま）を手に入れた。それを聞いた秦の国の昭王（しょうおう）は、その璧と十五のお城と交換したいという手紙を書いた。

　惠文王は、昭王に璧だけ取られて、十五の城ももらえないと考え、恐れていた。すると、惠文王の部下の藺相如は「私が使いに出向き、もし城をもらえなかったら、璧を守り抜いて持ち帰るようにします。」と言った。

　このように璧を完全に守りぬくという意味から「完璧」という言葉が生まれた。

従って「璧」を「壁」と書くのは間違いである。

Kei- Wen-wang ( けいぶんおう ) in the country of Zhao in the past, China obtained beautiful 璧 ( the ball ).
Syou king ( しょうおう ) in the country in the Qin dynasty which heard it wrote the letter to want to exchange for the 璧 and 15 castles.
As for Kei -Wen-wang, only 璧- was taken by Akira king and it thought that it isn't possible to get 15 castles, too, and feared.
Then, rush Sukeyuki of Kei- Wen-wang's subordinate said " it protects 璧 and it makes take back it if I go to the usage and can not have gotten a castle ".
The word " to be above criticism " was born from the meaning to pull out 璧 by defending it fully in this way.
Therefore, representing " 璧 " as " the wall " is a mistake.
