児童養護：40回目の訪問 Foster home: 40th visit

意外と行事が多くて週1回の学習支援活動もなかなか進まないけど、

1年と1か月を過ぎてやっと40回目の活動となった。

 

児童の学校での成績が思ったより上がらないことと、

来年には高校受験も控えているため、

これまでの活動方針を見直すことにした。

 

当初は週1回という時間制限もあるため、内容を自分が説明するだけで終わり、

予習、復習、漢字や英単語の反復練習等は自分でやるよう指導していたが、

実際それでは成績面での向上が見られないので、

指導時間中に漢字や英単語の反復練習をするように変更した。

 

いくら学校の先生や私の話を聞いたところで、

自分でやるのだという意識がなければ何も向上しないということを本人にも説明し、

納得してもらった。

 

これで高校受験、大丈夫なのだろうか。

Supporting activity for the boy to studyhad to be stopped due to many school event.

However, I could make 40^th visitafter 1 year and 1 month.

 

I made up my mind to change the policy forsupporting.

Because his score in the school could notimprove as we expected.

Additionally, the boy has to getexamination for entering high school next year.

 

At the beginning of this activity, Idecided to explain about each subject what the boy could not understand wellbecause of the limitation of the time once in a week.

But actually, we could not get improvementand I had to review his achievement.

Then I decided to include the practice timefor him to remember exactly about Kanji and English term.

 

Also, I explained to him that listening theexplanation of school teacher and me without his own effort to remember such asrepeating writing many times and he agreed it.

 

The remaining time before the examinationfor entering high school is less than half year.

I am not sure the we can reach to thesuitable level until that time.
